Night before the big trip! Joanna jinxed me!!
Several weeks ago, Joanna asked if I had to buy anything special for the trip – I was busy working on immunization stuff, so I haven’t thought that far in advanced yet. Basically, I said not really. I should have everything I need, it has been a while since I went backpacking, but basically, my backpack works and I have all the clothes I need. What else, do I really need to buy. Do not do a web search – it is amazing all stuff you can buy. Anyways, a pile of stuff later. I now have the problem of packing everything. It is amazing how good you get at guessing the weight of stuff. Since I am bringing some stuff for Meg, well, it really is for Mirielle, forget about Jack – that is the problem w/ being a parent – at some point in time all of your potential cool stuff goes to your kids. I decided to take the other disposable stuff as well – why buy stuff if I already have it here! Well, needless to stay – packing and repacking for 2 days. More than 50% of it will not be coming home. It really is Joanna’s fault.
The good news is that I added the travel alerts, places not to fly, airlines not to fly on, and airline safety ratings because of Joanna’s other question about safety. Ok, not just Joanna, friends, Aunts, Uncles, … the list goes on. The good news is that Nathan, my hair stylist, won’t miss me because lately I see him every 6-9 months. I will be back just in time for my hair cut!
