Bali – First Stop – Part 4 – Nusa Dua – Thank you Jack!!

Poor Jack, he was not able to attend!  Happy Carol, she took his place.  Meg and Mirielle went to Suzuki conference in Nusa Dua.  Basically the resort area of Bali.   If you were going to have a conference, this is the place to have it.   Interesting observation:   I took music lesson for many years and I have not seen kids laugh so much and have fun at a conference.  I snuck into the opening and closing ceremony and a couple of group cello lessons.  They practiced for hours and it is really amazing to see kids from all over the world, who have never met each other, and who were able to play together and have fun!

A day in a life (resort life):  Get up in the morning, wash, and go to b-fast.  It took a while to decide what to eat.  Large selection – English b-fast, Dim Sum, Indian food, noodles (like Mongolian BBQ or Thai soups), sushi, fresh juices, pastries, cereal, and coffee barista. Go back to the room, get cello, books, etc., walk w/ Meg and Mirielle to Suzuki conference a couple of resorts down the beach, sit in the group cello lesson – I picked up some great facilitator skills (good state changes, games to make practice fun, good anchors for kids to remember what how to play different sections).  Filled up water bottle and walked to the different areas to site see.  Picked up Mirielle at 3:30, so mom can go to the parent conference.  Walk back to hotel, drop of cello and stuff, walk to the club area just in time for tea time!  Eat crumpets (well no crumpets, rice desserts, scones, cakes, etc) and drink tea (or bubble water or bubble wine).  Stay long enough for the cheese platter to come out.  Go back to room, change to swim suits, walk out the back door, into the pool, meet Meg at the swim up bar, and play in the pool for several hours – not sure why I keep loosing all of the races, rules seem to change at interesting times.  Bed time is at 8:30 for some people and Meg read “Tales of a 4th Grade Nothing” to us!!  I can’t wait to see what happens to dribbles!  I don’t think these books were in the school library when I was a in 4th grade – I do remember “How to Eat Fried Worms” – not sure why i remember that book.   Next day, repeat!!  It is a hard life – hanging out in the club and swimming pool.
